It’s been only a few weeks since I returned from the ASAE conference in Chicago and my mind is still spinning with all the information I gathered while I was there. As the incoming president of MSAE I look forward to implementing some of these ideas to grow our society.

MSAE Elects New Board
MSAE has announced its new officers and the election of three local business leaders to its 2019 Board of Directors. The Board of Directors oversees MSAE as it works to promote and support excellence and professionalism among association executives, as well as increase the effectiveness, image and impact of its member associations..

Strategic Planning Underway
 The MSAE board gave a Sunday to begin a strategic planning process that will continue through the next month and culminate with a board retreat in early November. While discussions were based on the results of a member survey, we'd like to generate additional member feedback to inform our continuing work. If you've not already completed the survey please consider doing so today. Responses will be treated confidentially. A consolidated summary of all replies will be made available to the Board and Strategic Planning Attendees.

MSAE is once again preparing to publish our lobbyist directory for distribution to members of the Missouri Legislature in both printed and electronic formats.
Lobbyists interested in being included must sign up before Friday, October 26.

Strategic Hotel Contracts: Plan & Think Before You Ink
Hotel contracts are complicated, but are a must to define responsibilities and make mutual obligations perfectly clear. In the Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) landscape, hotel contract risk mitigation has become an important metric. In this interactive workshop, Terri Woodin, CMP will lead attendees through discussion of a multitude of topics on methods to negotiate contracts that assure added meeting value, cost savings and risk mitigation, including dispute resolution.
