MSAE’s Response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Like many of you, MSAE has been monitoring the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in an effort to ensure we are proactively protecting the health and safety of our members, and to ensure that we can meet the needs of our Associate and Professional Members. Many of us are already feeling the economic strain the COVID-19 pandemic, especially our Associate Members, and MSAE wants to help you in any way we can. Many of the business resources available have been compiled by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Additionally, as we are made aware of more resources for our members, MSAE will update our COVID-19 Resources page. The MSAE Board met recently to discuss the feasibility of some of the organization’s business practices and the following decisions were made to better accommodate the current pandemic and future economic constraints.
  • Rescheduling Round Tables Event from April 3rd to July 14th.
  • Canceling FunFest in September
    • This event is heavily reliant on associate member’s sponsorship dollars. Therefore, in an effort to alleviate the financial burden on MSAE and its associate members, the board chose to cancel the meeting.
    • There likely will be a social member event held in conjunction with the Round Table Event as a substitute. More information about the social event will be available in the coming months.
    • MSAE’s Annual Meeting will be held in conjunction with MSAE’s Holiday Party, in accordance with the bylaws.
  • To reduce the necessity of advertising revenue from associate members and eliminating printing costs, MSAE will be providing the following:
    • Online member directory – also available in a PDF format
    • Online newsletters – also available in a PDF format
    • In addition, the board carefully reviewed the current budget and made adjustments to accommodate the financial impact of COVID-19 on MSAE programs and events, while maintaining a level of benefits that are important to MSAE members.
As our members continue their important work of supporting their membership and organizations, MSAE remains resolved to be a resource you can depend on during these times of uncertainty. It is our hope that next year we will be able to provide the full services you deserve.  Remember, we are in this together to support each other and our organizations.
Sincerely,Kathy Pabst, MBA, CAE
MSAE Board President
Executive Director, Missouri Academy of Family Physicians
